The Respect & Responsibility program offers a 12 week behavioural change program for dads, expecting fathers and men struggling in their family relationships. It is an opportunity to gather together with other dads just like you who are ready to make positive changes in their family relationships.
Respect & Responsibility Program
Our Respect & Responsibility Program has been written from our experience and local cultural understanding as Aboriginal and Islander peoples within our region. Our experience is unique to our region and supported by our Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and Australian South Sea Islander elders within our Mackay community and guided by our qualified staff.
We understand that there are many barriers to getting the help to the people who need it most, but through our community engagement and local knowledge, we hope to be able to meet clients where they’re at.
Within the 12 Week Behavioural Change program is a 2 night, weekend camp (week 3) where men are able to receive training in a hands-on experience and get support from great mentors.
We also offer the chance to apply for just the Camp.
At our Camps, men will learn how to connect to their personal identity and put those principles into real action. Many men have walked away from our camps with valuable insight that will last a life time.
Our Camps run for over a weekend, 2 nights, and our qualified key facilitators, mentors and elders provide the best foundations to help strengthen resilient, positive and culturally appropriate building blocks for a brighter future!
“Enjoyed meeting other men, enjoyed the camp.”
“This camp really opened up my mind and knowledge and showed me how to be a better father.”
“Learning and a great experience, opening a lot of thoughts.”
“I enjoyed everyday. I would recommend this to others. Keep up the good work.”
“…It helps to talk about it [problems], it clears your mind. With the support you get, you talk to mentors, and you know, you get to build trust in yourself…”
“Truly appreciate this opportunity given to me, the diverse knowledge the facilitator shared, which will help in the future.”
“Great camp, well run, great food, great company, great content and topics, well done!”
